Baltimore County, Md. (December 2, 2011) – Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged Durante Ricco Ervin, 50, of no fixed address, for two home invasion robberies that occurred on November 27 and November 29 in the Pikesville area.

On November 27 at 11:06 a.m., officers responded to the 3200-block of Smith Avenue, 21208 for a robbery that had just occurred. A 65-year-old man reported that a man entered the victim’s home, implied that he had a gun, and physically restrained the victim while removing the victim’s wallet from his pocket. The victim recognized the suspect as the same man who came to his house in October asking to use the restroom. On November 29 at 12 p.m., officers responded to the 2600-block of Willow Glen Drive, 21209 for an assault with injury. An 83-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife were in their home when a man entered the kitchen. The suspect pushed the man to the floor, and then into the living room. The suspect then took $80 in cash from the victims, and then threw the female victim out the front door of the home. She fell onto a table which broke two lawn ornaments. The woman had minor injuries as a result of the assault. The victims recognized the suspect from last year, when he entered their home posing as a water meter reader. Precinct detectives were able to link Durante Ervin to this case as well.

Durante Ervin was arrested in Baltimore City on November 29. He was charged with two counts of robbery, 2 counts of second degree assault, first degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, and theft less than $100 for the crime on Willow Glen Drive.
