Monarch Med Spa Under Investigation for Infections Received by Former Liposuction Patients


Officials Announced on September 19, 2012 that Timonium, Maryland based Monarch Med Spa is being closed amid an investigation into possible infections of former patients.

Local reports have learned that at least three cases of severe group A Streptococcus infections were found in patients of Monarch Med Spa.  The patients had been to Monarch Med Spa to receive a liposuction procedure at the cosmetic surgery center in Timonium, Maryland.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH), who are investigating the incidents, indicated that the procedures were performed at Monarch Med Spa between mid-August 2012 and mid-September 2012.
